3rd DAN BLACKBELT

Minimum Age - 18 years.

Experience needed - minimum 3 years from last grading. Pass Mark - Pass/Fail. 

Prior to grading, the student will have taught two karate classes with examiner providing a critique at the end of each session. At the end of the 2nd Session candidate will be given a Pass/Fail. Pass will allow the candidate to complete the San-Dan Grading (See note B) Student to have viewed anatomical material to gain a better understanding of body movement & potential restrictions (see Note C).

3. Examiner to choose any three katas from 3rd Kyu to 2nd Dan (inclusive) GRADING SYLLABUS.

Pinan Kata Bunkai/Drill.

4. Candidate will demonstrate effective bunkai for Pinan Sandan Kata (See Note A).

5. Candidate will demonstrate effective bunkai for Pinan Yondan Kata (See Note A).

6. Candidate will demonstrate effective  bunkai for Pinan Godan Kata (See Note A).

7. Shiai Kumite 1 - Competition sparring using competition rules.

8. Shiai Kumite 2 - Competition sparring using competition rules.
